    Highland County utilizes a comprehensive severe weather alert system to keep residents informed and safe during weather emergencies. The system includes National Weather Service alerts, which are broadcast through various channels such as NOAA weather radios, local television and radio stations, and wireless emergency alerts (WEA) to cell phones. The county also encourages residents to sign up for Hyper-Reach, an emergency notification system that sends real-time updates via phone, text, or email, ensuring prompt communication during severe weather events and other emergencies.
